Who we are

We treat clients with respect, because we understand you do not have to be a criminal to get arrested

Cherokee Bail Bonds is a full-service bail bond company operating within Cherokee County, Georgia, from an office at 2920 Marietta Highway, Unit 106, in Canton. We serve every municipality in the county — Canton, Woodstock, Ball Ground, Holly Springs, Waleska and Nelson — and every unincorporated community in between.

We are listed on the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office approved bonding company list. In Georgia, professional bondsmen are approved by the county sheriff under O.C.G.A. § 17-6-50, which requires Georgia residency, good moral character, no felony conviction, a fingerprint-based criminal history check through the Georgia Crime Information Center and the FBI, and the sheriff’s ongoing approval. That is not a marketing badge. It is the licence that lets us walk into the jail on Chattin Drive.

We believe in going the extra mile to provide courteous, professional service. We are ready 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, so whenever you call there is a licensed bail bond agent available and ready to help. Your privacy matters enormously to us, and we will never violate your trust.

At a glance

How we work

What you can expect from us

We actually answer

A licensed agent picks up the phone at three in the morning on a holiday weekend. That is the entire business. Everything else is secondary.

We tell you the truth

If a charge is bailable only before a Superior Court judge, or a probation violation carries no bond, we say so in the first two minutes instead of taking a deposit.

We keep it private

Your name, the charge and the situation stay between us. No posting, no sharing, no gossip in a small county where everyone knows everyone.

We are local

Our office is minutes from the jail and the courthouse. We know the clerks, the calendars and the roads. That saves real time.

We charge the legal rate

Fifteen percent, minimum $50 per bonded charge, exactly as O.C.G.A. 17-6-30 sets it. No hidden fees, no surprises at the window.

We stay with you

The bond is live until the court exonerates it. We stay reachable for the whole case, not just the first night.

The process

What we do once you call

Once a person is arrested they must be booked. That process may take as little as forty-five minutes or several hours. Once a judge sets the amount of the bond, the defendant may post bail and be released until an arraignment hearing date is set. A bond is designed to guarantee the defendant’s appearance in court — the bonding company guarantees to the court that it will pay the total amount of the bond should the defendant fail to appear.

When posting a bond with a bonding company, a co-signer or indemnitor is required. The co-signer, often a friend or relative, signs a contract with the bonding company assuming financial responsibility should the defendant fail to appear for any court date. That obligation does not end until the court has exonerated the bonding company from the case.

Should the defendant fail to appear, the co-signer will need to surrender the defendant to the bonding company or get the case reset. If the defendant absconds, the co-signer is responsible for the full amount of the bond, which the bonding company then forwards to the court.

Once the co-signer has signed, our agent prepares the paperwork for the defendant’s release. You may co-sign by email, fax or in person at our office. Once the paperwork is processed at the jail, the defendant is released.

Recovery

007 Footloose Offender Services

Alongside the bonding company we operate 007 Footloose Offender Services, handling surrender, recovery and offender services work. If a defendant has stopped appearing and a co-signer needs to act before a forfeiture judgment lands, this is the side of the business that helps.
